ABOUT
Andy Krysiak is an independent film director, screenwriter, and producer based in Chicago. Drawing from a wide array of influences, he is interested in power systems, social constructs and relations, the ethics and democratization of art, and the struggles of individualistic pursuits.

Since graduating from DePaul University with a BFA in Film & Television in June 2024, Andy has focused on creating low-budget, DIY projects which favor intimate creative collaboration and celebrate the joyous nature of the filmmaking process. In between his own projects, he frequently takes on opportunities as a script supervisor, assistant director, and production assistant in the Chicago film industry.

In June 2024, Andy launched NEXT EXIT FILMS, a formal outlet to share his own creative work across multiple disciplines all while championing fellow creative independents whose work inspire and innovate. In late 2024, Andy began to collaborate with other young, DIY-oriented filmmakers to develop the AmAuteur Film Festival, which took place in November 2025 in Chicago. He is currently in post-production on his debut feature film, All the Broken Flowers.

When he isn’t thinking about movies, you can probably find him writing music with his acoustic guitar, playing volleyball, or reading graphic novels.
